Stratford-upon-Avon Rendering

Famously the birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon (also known as just Stratford) has an excellent history and amasses millions of tourists each year. The river Avon which runs through the town which has a great selection of eateries, bars and shops running along either side of the river. Stratford has been the residency of many notable people throughout history and to the present day, including legendary chef Gordan Ramsey.

With such a rich history and list of celebrities, Stratford unsurprisingly has a range of architecture, including William Shakespeare’s birth home as well as many other Tudor buildings. A number of the newer buildings have opted for a completely smooth rendered finish whereas others have chosen a part brick and render option, more in-keeping with the history of the town. McGrane Plastering & Rendering can help with these projects with experience of both monocouche and silicone rendering, as well as traditional sand and cement rendering.

As with many buildings of a certain age, retaining heat and mold can be a pain for the inhabitants. Fortunately,  there are a number of ways to counteract these occurrences. The first is to damp proof which involves removing the visible damp and mold back to bare brick and apply damp resistant plaster. Another option to consider is also external wall insulation what helps retain the heat within the building by adding an additional layer outside of the building. This can help keep those character beams internally exposed.
